Greetings To All!
« on: May 11, 2018, 05:32:14 pm »
Hello, everyone! I'm not a nagual. I've never written a book. I created this forum because I felt the need for a place where those interested in immortality and death defiance could put everything together from the many different sources, in one place, discuss and share their wisdom and knowledge, opinions and ideas -- what someone said today, is a "Toltec bullseye" -- thank you for that! ....And  I wanted a place where we could do it in peace, and not be molested by trolls and other internet monsters.

I'm here, not as an expert, but to listen, ask questions and learn.

I've always believed that what I see in front of my eyes ..that there is more than this. From childhood I have been interested in the metaphysical/spiritual ....sci-fi and fantasy.  Some of my favorite authors are Carlos Cataneda, Richard Bach, Taisha Abelar, Mikal Nyght, David Wilcock, P.D. Ouspensky, Arthur C. Clarke...

When I first read about the death defier in Castaneda's books, I was intrigued, enchanted ....haunted ...I knew what I was reading was not fiction. It's always been in the back of my mind since.

Why do I want to live forever? Here's a hint from a quote from Mikal Nyght that explains it best for me...

"When you love something so much that you cannot envision a world in which your love is dead, that is the first moment you might begin to see the pathway to achieving the immortal condition. That is the moment you might even understand why it is a compulsion for you and not just a passing intellectual dalliance."

In his book, Darker Teachings Of The Immortals, from which that quote is taken, he reveals something which I believe has been hidden from most of us for a very long time.

Before reading it, I couldn't have told you why I want to live forever.  Truthfully I had pretty much given up on experiencing anything but an ordinary death ...thinking that anything more would require decades of drudgerous torture sitting on a Zabuton. I couldn't even imagine what immortality would look like .....you go to the Great Zabuton in the sky? ...Christian equivalent to the angels playing harps on clouds?? This did not inspire me. Then I found Mikal Nyght's book and that did. It always seems that when I have all but given up on something and am starting to think it's impossible, the answer arrives....

...Which, in this case, became the inspiration for this forum.

Now I realize I have lots of work to do ....some of which might require years sitting on a zabuton -- I hope not decades -- but at least now I have a reason that inspires me. "Love is the reason."

Anything else I could say about myself would just be personal history, so I'll stop here.

Thanks for reading.

Welcome to the forum, Taijibum.

DTOTI isn't the most well-written book I've ever read, and I don't agree with everything the author says, but the one thing I got from it, to me is worth it's weight in gold ....much more than that actually. Maybe the information can be found elsewhere, but if so I haven't found it. Of course, I'm still learning - am discovering so much new everyday -- and experiencing lots of little synchronicities that confirm to me that I'm on the right path ....as I am finding hints of this truth in other writings which I didn't know about before. But they are just hints, not the full explanation laid out in DTOTI.

I don't get it. I haven't read most of the folks you mentioned, just Don Juan a long time ago, which was very handy as I needed a Language to relate to others from my own experience..... which had a language that nobody I came across knew, so using Don Juans Language helped make it possible to talk about...... "sorcery" to folks interested.  But this "Immortality", I don't get.
We are All Immortal.... so what is the need to seek it, we can't avoid it.
Does this mean staying in the same physical body and life....no thanks, that is counterproductive..makes evolution more difficult.

My first memories in this life, before I could even talk, were of past lives.
I have relationships with folks in this life that I shared past lives with, that remember those lives as well or better than I do.
I once met a guy, a wizard of sorts....who in this life in his youth, was present in my past life, the day I died (was killed by Chinese soldiers).... He remembered those moments better than I did, as he wasn't Blocking things that were very uncomfortable.
So he was able to teach me a lot, (that took me years to assimilate), because he was seeing it more clearly and hadn't blocked the most pertinent things as I had done.
So, we are immortal....
Learning to die to gain the most evolution was primary to my teachers teaching..... and my learning.
I mean immortal is sort of a relative term really, because what is it that we want to be immortal, what is it that we believe we want to be immortal.
Cause you see our evolution is circular, and though after thousands of years it does have what appears on one level to be an "end" point....that end point is like....hmm, like an archetype, a seed to a new beginning.
So yeah, we can carry on in a body for thousands of years,(changing skins periodically) and also transcend that for a length of time if we make that choice...and live more in an energy body..... but you know, thousands of years is pretty good..... But if we look beyond the physical and even energetic existence that we call us....... beyond that which we cling to .....and clings to us for thousands of years....something else goes on beyond that....and it all recirculates basically for eternity.
It should be noted though that "eternity" is also a mis-leading term, as the reality is ...... hmm, eternity is really like a chain of connected eternities. Some religion calls them Yuga's I believe.
You could say that an eternity is an incarnation of God....
but just like us
 God Reincarnates....
so each life of God is another eternity.
And from what I've "seen".... our old selves carry over, sort of like pieces in the NEW DNA of the new Eternity.
Now I really dislike using that term,"God", because almost all of the ideas about that in mass consciousness....are way off the mark. Nevertheless it's the best way of describing it that I have.
So I am not sure what you refer to when speaking of seeking immortality......?

I would like to give a more thorough answer to this question at a later time. For now suffice to say. That even though it may be true that we are already immortal, it is only that we are immortal in a certain sense of the word. Even in Buddhism and Hinduism where they speak of reincarnation, this process is a potentially near endless repetition of cycles that we do not go through in a wakeful or mindful way. In so far as death is similar to sleep, and life is similar to being awake, then reincarnation is not immortality if we go through it unconsciously. So seeking the immortal condition, in this one sense would then be to seek to be awake within all states of consciousness, not just the limited frame of the First Attention.

How can you really say that you live on after death if you can't remember your previous lives? Who lives on if you are a more of less different person with little to no memory of your previous existence? Change is important, it would be counter productive to stay the same person or being forever, but it is a kind of death if you change without awareness of the process of changing. It is even more so death, in an undesirable sense at least, if we go into it without having claimed our fullest potential first....

Not much time right now, but I hope that illuminates some of what I mean when I say I wish to be a Death Defier.
