No need to tell me the answer to the question I asked. Just know that the reason I asked is that when a Warrior takes action of some sort, it helps us to have clarity of intent. So I suggest making sure you know the answer to the question.

And to your question yes I have contact with my Double. This is a very personal experience though, and don't expect yours to be the same as mine.

I use a variety of methods, water scrying, black scrying mirror, trance, dreaming, automatic writing, and sometimes she just comes to me.

She/he is androgynous, though it changes form from time to time, and sometimes I don't see my Double, I just feel its presence. I know there is a close connection between my Double and my Higher self, as I know what the energy of the higher self feels like, and there is a similarity, combined with the feeling of astral energy. The feeling I get from her also reminds me of being deep in a very calming place in the woods. Sometimes in dreams she even appears part plant.

My Double first came to me as young child, then often just as a presence. One time in dream the presence pushed me off a ledge. Instead of falling I flew straight into space, and she road on my back. I was awoken from this dream by the sound of her voice in my ear saying it was time to get up, and the feeling of someone touching the middle of my forehead near the third eye. It felt totally physical that forehead touch.

Apparently, I recently learned, that she has been teaching me from a very early age, and that there is much that I don't remember from those lessons. That part of my task is to recover the memories, which I have begun to do.

How do I know it is my Double on the Ouija board? I first request to speak with my Double, then ASK -- "is this my Double who is speaking to me on this Ouija baord?" ...Surprisingly, if it is not my Double, the spirit or whatever it is always tells the truth and says "No."

Then I ask it to leave and let me speak to my Double. Sometimes this works and sometimes I have to clear the area and put up protection.

But most importantly, I can feel when it's my Double, and I KNOW his 'voice' --  and I can feel his presence when we are communicating on the Ouija board.

One time I got an answer I KNEW was not my Double and I asked, "Who is this?" and got "Lucifer". I was more amused than frightened and asked him what he wanted, and he said, "To teach you." I said, no thanks, now please hand the receiver back to my Double. haha

Why is the Double an appealing concept to me and what does he mean to me?....

Mikal Nyght, in his book, Darker Teachings of the Immortals describes it in much better words than I could. And ...it's kind of a private subject for me.

I will say that my Other is my Teacher whose goal is teach me how to make that "crossing" over into the Immortal state.

a lot of years and some evolution.....

So, when Don Juan speaks of death,
 he's talking about one specific Hell Realm where he ended up in the past.....
The things he says about what happens there are True....
you actually forget yourself....
lose your old living identity, memory etc.
 There is what I call Momentum...it carries you along...
I believe it is analogous to what we call “Time” here....
 But what he is saying seems fairly limited...like he hasn't seen the Big Picture,
 just the Hell Realm that he resonated with when he crossed over.
  But there are a bunch...it's all about frequency and Vibration....
Colour as the old Mystics would call it....
And our particular Colour when we die determines what we will resonate with and if we aren't disciplined....or I suppose if we're the old type sorcerers..... we will Be pulled into one that resonates similar to us.
Different Cultures, different histories, different ideologies vibrate differently enough that multiple Heavens and Hells have been created...
and are still being created.
I've heard of folks through a friend that was basically  doing the Yoga of the Death state like I did,
 but  they pulled in,
 and never made it out....
their body took a while, then died......

I was lucky, my teachers pulled me out.
  But while I was there I did totally lose who I was in this reality,
 memory and all...
in fact had a totally different memory and self.....and was a pretty major ****....though in that place it was more a Norm.
  And I've died a bunch of times , but evidently never got dissipated in those realms to cease existing as Don Juan alludes.
 He basically say's that the more our Double is defined...that part about more folks knowing us..... basically the building of a strong Double he's saying protects the Sorcerer from Obliteration.....HMMM???
  I mean if it is well developed, the magnetism between it and our consciousness is stronger....
and it's always following us and reminding us,
...... For the old sorcerers,
Who we are and what we can be,
and for the New Sorcerers
it only reminds us of who we were......

But nevertheless what the soul doesn't carry over......
 into our new bodies DNA.....
it's possible (depending upon the length and experience of our death), our Double could also carry over.
  For New Sorcerers it is less likely.
 The thing is, the New Sorcerers tend to spend longer in The Light when they die,
 so the frequency they left one life with...which resonated with their Double.....
can be far too different coming into the New Life.....
so the Double can't find it....
the resonance is gone.
He say's we don't have a soul, only energy.
 Well, yeah, but the Soul is the name we've given that energy …...
 He makes it sound like if your soul isn't developed enough, you can lose your Life during the death state,
 it'll just slowly evaporate.....
I don't believe this is correct,
but see where the idea came from.
 When he crossed over and ended  up in that Hell Realm, he witnessed the loss of self...probably in himself, and maybe by “seeing” others there...I mean it's a fact...BUT, he obviously got out, I have a ton of times (doing yoga of the death state added greatly to those numbers....)  And I know folks that I've known for lifetimes, so they made it out.... I mean I've been on the “sorcerers path” at least for the last 3 lifetimes....don't remember before that where I was at....but I'm pretty sure I started just as Ignorant as the next guy.  I mean it's our consciousness that “pulls into” those realms....our Souls...and Doubles I think just patiently wait outside for us to finish, then we go on....often pulling into another...maybe Heaven Realm this time.   I mean when I cheated that one time and didn't focus beyond the realms to the Light....and pulled into a Hell Realm First, once my Teachers got me out.....I immediately pulled into the orbit of another....... oh yeah, I pulled into it....Really different.... they pulled me out of there, then there I was pulling into another....it's like that out there....The third time I guess it was my teachers that told me to use the velocity of the Magnetism (gravity) to throw myself out of it's orbit.....Then I broke the Habit and went on.  My point is that Don Juan talked like that singular realm he experienced was what was...like...... there weren't plenty of others....
and if you die (being slightly different from how he got there,
 and how I have with Yoga of the Death State)
 he figured  from his limited experience there that that was the totality of the reality of Death......
 Makes sense, we define the world by what we experience,
if your experience is limited, so is your definition of it.....

OH, I just read over what I wrote, I thought I'd add this:  You know that second realm I pulled into....Well I didn't even tell you about the first one....It was in a totally different time. Powdered Wigs on the Men...Black Servants, it was a “Ball” with folks playing what we now call Classical music on their instruments.....
 It was nothing really exceptional,
just like everyday stuff in a totally different time and world and self,
 I was checking out some babe,
thinking some pretty nasty thought..
I was a totally different person...
and had a totally different life and memories ....
then my Teachers pulled me out.......
Then I pulled right into the next one , interesting thing there. You know you hear about those aliens....tall and gangly and grey......
.I was one of them in a world of them.... Trippy, then I was pulled out.....
I really liked the video, I have to translate Don Juans language to fit with my language to understand what he was saying.
 But I can see that he was a pretty aware dude,
had the experiences and wasn't just talking about them from earlier programming from others.
The guy I met who had learned from Don Juan was pretty freaking magical, and I'm beginning to wonder if the woman I call ,'My Highest Teacher” might also be connected to Don Juan ...otherwise it seems quite the coincidence that when I met Pack Rat was at the same place and maybe a week apart from when I saw that Teacher Flying with the Cords.....She was pretty freakin powerful..
And I wonder about the Night before I came across my first Don Juan book where I ended up in the Dreamtime in the desert with that medicine man.....I never before considered that he might actually have been Don Juan.....but, HMM. It was like a small adobe house.....and I think maybe had been a gas station once, in the middle of the desert.....I knew he was Indian but couldn't look at his face without dissolving......

I'll tell you something Trippy. This is when I watched my “Highest teacher” Fly.   
I had her picture on the wall in the back of my motorhome, a girl I had met and travelled with for a short time, that also spoke, “Don Juan”.... had drawn a picture, kind of kept it to herself until it was done than showed me.
 Well I had seen My Highest Teachers” face superimposed upon this girl when I practiced seeing....which in those days I didn't have to make an effort to do ..
I had .no choice.
 Well this Girl, Jill, finally shows me the pic she had drawn....
it was the face I saw superimposed on her......
I asked her, what's this,
 and she said she'd seen it superimposed on me ever since we met
 but was ...slow to mention it...
 So she drew this pic....went on her way, I made a frame for it, ground up a Goldish stone and painted part of the border with that...then had something sky blue for the rest.
Anyway days later I'm back where I ran into Pack Rat.  In the middle of the night a magical friend comes knocking on my door... (strange because nobody knew where I was exactly)...anyway he and I went down to the beach the next day.... We're the only ones there. He has a camera ..(he taught Photography and Fencing in the Bay Area at some College. 
 Anyway we're sitting there...he has his camera.
We start hearing flute music coming from....
sounded like right behind us....
we look down the Beach and there is this Golden Aura moving in our direction....
the same color as the frame on the picture of My Highest Teacher.....
She gets closer...music still playing....
Larry say's, Hey, isn't that the woman you have a picture of on the wall in your Motorhome?   Sure as Hell.... BUT, she's young....wearing sky blue by the way.....but then she morphs into this old woman, then back to young.
Larry say's I'm not even going to try and photograph that.....and, “you should go talk to her”...I gotta go...He had to hitchhike back to the Bay Area and teach his class that night.   Well I had ZERO freakin intention of talking to her..... It had been a long very Magical Journey, and I couldn't take any more. I left the Beach and went and sat on the cliffs above it, then up into a tree....and watched her all day down on the beach, got a nasty sunburn........ watching her fly above the ocean....using the Cords...
Suddenly I got up my nerve and decided to go down and talk to her......at that instant a guy appeared out of nowhere....walking as if connected to her by an invisible cord, that kept him moving at the same pace as her, and always the same distance...  He was wearing Jean Cover-alls and a Straw Hat.   Well, that did it...I went back to camp via rattlesnake gulch just so I wouldn't run into them as they were coming up now....Here's the interesting thing. A couple years ago I did a rare thing and looked in the mirror. I saw this guy in a straw hat and jean coveralls who I suddenly realized was the person I saw on the beach with her....it was me, when I was much older ….  Holy Crap.
And I've also come to realize that the Teacher I fist met in the White Hall, who taught me so much about what I was just about to read and practice....and whose face I couldn't look at..... was also Me.....in some Timeless place teaching myself......or  Could that have been my Double.

OH, and when Jill got back to Canada she sent me another picture...It was the same woman, but as she looked when she was "Old".  I guess Jill saw her that way superimposed on me as well and just got time to draw it... TRIPPY.  I still have the one in the gold and blue frame...Te older one I gave to My Step Son..... He's no longer in this world so the pic is gone.  He showed it to his Teacher who was some "Swami"..... and he said, "OH, that's Grandmother Spider".... Yeah whatever...maybe...I never met the guy so can't say's I'll believe that blindly.

I think you are right -- what triggers us, is us -- unhealed wounding from our past.  It's always been my experience that when I heal the wounding, the attacker vanishes from my life, or they stop their abusive behavior.  My mother is a perfect example. She is a clinical narcissist of the worst kind who's biggest goal in life, I am convinced, was to gaslight, crazy-make and terrorize me straight into the nearest nut house ...or the grave. That is not an exaggeration, though if she were to read this, she would laugh hysterically, then accuse me of "being dramatic" and having an "overdeveloped imagination".

After a lot of processing, healing and firmly setting my boundaries -- she immediately halted her abusive behavior and began showing respect. Every once in a while she will try testing her limits and I have to stand my ground, but for the first time in my life, I am able to deal with her ....and love her for who she is ....and even see and appreciate what she did give to me.

A method I have learned from John Kreiter, for fending off psychic attack, is to breath in/absorb the negative energy from the attacker, as well as your own negative energy being released via negative emotions during the attack. "Negative energy" is really just energy, which is being drained out of us during a psychic attack, and taking it back in so it's not food for inorganic beings, and also taking in the negative energy being sent our way by an attacker, effectively turns what would have been a vampire buffet into an energy boost/meal and empowerment for us.
